World Day of Remembrance of Road Traffic Victims
The University's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Daniel Mugendi (in blue-suit) plants a commemorative tree in observance of the World Day of Remembrance of Road Traffic Victims. The Day is observed on the Third Sunday of November annually and was held on Sunday, 15th November 2020. The day was observed to remember the many millions of people killed or injured in road crashes and their families and communities; as well as to pay tribute to the dedicated emergency crews, police, and medical professionals who on a daily basis deal with the traumatic aftermath of road death and injury. UoEm signs MoU with Gitutho Architects & Planners Limited
UoEm, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Daniel Mugendi, (3rd left) and Director, Gitutho Architects & Planners Limited (GAPL), Arch. Mugure Njendu display MoU documents shortly after signing a Memorandum of Understanding on Tuesday, 3rd November 2020. The MoU is aimed at establishing a mutually beneficial relationship between the two institutions to collaboratively establish a Green Innovation Centre in the University. University Education and Research, Principal Secretary and National Research Fund-Kenya, CEO visit

The PS and NRF-Kenya CEO, visited the University to familiarize themselves with the progress of the National Research Fund-Kenya funded projects in the Eastern Region. The University of Embu is currently hosting 5 multidisciplinary/multi-institutional projects.
Kenya National Innovation Agency CEO Courtesy Call

University Education and Research Principal Secretary Visit
The Principal Secretary of the State Department for University Education and Research, Amb. Simon Nabukwesi, inspects one of the lecture halls during his tour of the University to ascertain its preparedness following the reopening directive issued by the Ministry of Education on Tuesday, 6th October 2020. He was accompanied by the members of the management led by DVC in-charge of Academic Research and Extension, Prof. Kiplagat Kotut (right), DVC in-charge of Planning Administration and Finance, Prof. Eucharia Kenya (left) and Registrar, Planning Administration and Finance (2nd left) and Ministry of Education officials.
2020 Matriculation Ceremony
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Daniel Mugendi Njiru Ph.D. gives his speech to welcome the 2020-2021 first year students on Thursday 3rd September 2020. The VC's matriculation address effectively marks the culmination of the formal virtual orientation programme and the commencement of learning. The Vice-Chancellor's address was streamed Live via YouTube and Facebook. The virtual orientation exercise which began on Friday 28th August 2020 is expected to end on Friday, 4th September 2020.
