HOW TO ACCESS THE ONLINE HOSTEL BOOKING PORTAL

FOR FIRST YEAR STUDENTS

Please follow the instructions given below so as to access UoEm Online Hostel Booking Form:-

  1. Click on the "Students' Email List" and search for your name to get your assigned email address.
  2. Log in to www.gmail.com using the email address provided from the list and enter your KCSE No. in this format: 1234567890/2018 as your password. Note that 2018 refers to the year you sat for KCSE.
  3. Click on the link "Online Hostel Booking Portal" below to continue booking.
  4. If you receive the message "You need permission", ensure to log out on all email accounts and only log in with your new Student Email Address.
  5. Upon submission of successful booking the payment details will be displayed and a copy sent to your email.
  6. Kindly make full payments within seven (7) days to reserve the room.
  1. After seven days from the date of booking, the reservation of rooms that will not have been paid for, or partially paid for, will be cancelled and the rooms made available for booking by other interested students.

NOTE: It is advisable to use a computer or laptop for better findings results. However, if you must use a mobile phone, ensure that you have logged out of your default email address.

FOR CONTINUING STUDENTS

Please follow the instructions given below so as to access UoEm Online Hostel Booking Form:-

    1. Access the Student Portal by clicking the link: http://portal.embuni.ac.ke/ OR directly from the University Website.
    2. Log in to your account using your Registration Number in the format E221/12345/2018 and entering your password.
    3. If you are using a computer, select Accommodation on the left side of dashboard and on the drop down that appears select Book Hostel.


    4. Select the Hostel, Room and the term (Note: that the term applies for 2 semesters) and finally Click Create.
    5. If you are using a mobile phone, go to the top right above where your name is displayed, click on the four lines then select Accommodation. On the drop down that appears select Book Hostel.


    6. After seven days from the date of booking, the reservation of rooms that will not have been paid for, or partially paid for, will be cancelled and the rooms made available for booking by other interested students.

FEMALE HOSTELS CHARGES
•    Aberdares - 4 occupants per room and with own washroom
KUCCPS - KES. 12, 000 for 4 sharing per academic year
SSP - KES. 12, 000 per academic year
•    Mt. Kenya - 4 occupants per room and with own washroom
KUCCPS - KES. 12, 000 for 4 sharing per academic year
SSP - KES. 12, 000 per academic year
•    Mt. Kilimanjaro - 4 occupants per room as well as 8 occupants per room (Rooms 9, 16, 33, and 40) and with common washrooms.
KUCCPS - KES. 10, 000 for 4 sharing per academic year
             - KES. 8, 000 for 8 sharing per academic year
SSP - KES. 12, 000 per academic year

MALE HOSTELS CHARGES
•    Mt. Elgon - 4 occupants per room and with own washroom

•    Menengai - 4 occupants per room and with common washroom
KUCCPS - KES. 10, 000 for 4 sharing per academic year

•    Ngong' Hills - 4 occupants per room and with common washroom
KUCCPS - KES. 10, 000 for 4 sharing per academic year
SSP - KES. 12, 000 per academic year
•    Kilimambogo - 6 occupants per room and with common washroom
KUCCPS - KES. 8, 000 for 6 sharing per academic year
SSP - KES. 12, 000 per academic year
•    Taita- 4 Occupants per room and with common washroom
  KUCCPS - KES. 10, 000 for 4 sharing per academic year
  SSP - KES. 12, 000 per academic year

HOW TO MAKE PAYMENT

You can pay for the hostel using the following way:
Payment via Mpesa
Procedure:
i)    Go to Mpesa menu
ii)    Select Lipa na Mpesa
iii)    Select Paybill
iv)    Select Enter business number
v)    Enter the Business number as 418888
vi)    Select Account Number
vii)    Enter your admission number in full, as the account number (e.g. A100/XXXXX/2019)
viii)    Enter the amount you intend to pay
ix)    Enter the secret Mpesa PIN
x)    Confirm the Pay bill account number and the amount, then press OK
Important Notes:
1.     Do not delete the Mpesa confirmation message until after you are issued with an official University receipt by the Student Finance officer.
2.     All students are required to pay for accommodation for the whole Academic Year (i.e. Semester one and two after booking).
3.    At the end of the seven day period, the reservation will be cancelled and the room made available for other students to book.
4.     Students who make full payments within the time given will be notified of their room allocation within one week of payment.
5.     At the end of one week reservations for rooms not paid for or partially paid for will be cancelled and made available to other interested students.
